I am reading an absolutely wonderful book by Scott McCloud, Understanding Comics the Invisible Art. I recommend it to everyone.

Illustration Friday's Theme: Bloom

This week’s topic for Illustration Friday’s is Bloom, So I am submitting a Calligraphy pen and watercolor drawing I did in Painter 8. This is a change from my usual digital drawings. I used Painter 8’s calligraphy pens and brushes on a gel layer on top of a layer with Digital Watercolor. I was pleased with the way it turned out especially since I had not used the Digital Watercolor brushes very much. I would love to hear from other Painter 8 or 9 users about their techniques, etc.
